That Day Podcast

April 20, 2026 ~ Kylie Eklund-Denman ~ Leave a comment

Kylie Orr and Jac Hawkins came to my home to record the episode of their That Day Podcast, with me as a guest, in late February. The episode drops tomorrow, and I'm feeling lots of things. Firstly, I can't really remember what I said. I mean, I know the story. It's my story. But, am … Continue reading That Day Podcast

Is Suicide a Dirty Word?

My memoir writing journey has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs. The actual writing was difficult, but rewarding. The people I've met, the skills I've gained, and many other aspects of this experience have been life changing. But today I'm looking for comparative titles for submitting my story to publishers. Writers will tell you … Continue reading Is Suicide a Dirty Word?

I respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the traditional owners of the land on which I write and live, and the rich history of storytelling being an important part of the culture. Last night’s sunset from our deck. Every day is different 🙌😍 #sunset🌅 #bigsky My pride and joy in Grade 6 ☺️ the library has always been my happy place Come see me, In Conversation with Marion Taffe, about her very excellent book, By Her Hand. Saturday morning 🙃 Belgrave Library at 11am. One of us has settled in extremely well and is enjoying being an only child #genji #treehousecat #midcenturymodern After wallowing, or was it drowning, in stress and grief and moving house, I’ve finally pulled on my big girl writing pants and put an order in for my gorgeous friend, @annefreemanwrites new book 🥳 I was surprised that I wasn’t too late for the goodies 🪩 It’s been ages since I posted. I’ve been moving house and bereft at the loss of my soul companion, Yoki-san 😭. My cultural cup is full after escaping moving house to enjoy a couple of sessions at Melbourne Writers Festival. A delayed post…I’ve been off socials for a week. But, it was surreal to see my name, face, words, and photos in print in the relaunched @thehillscene magazine 🤩 Congratulations @adridaze on the excellent capture of the hills creative community ❤️ thanks for the opportunity and I look forward to contributing further 🥳 One week without you, and I was so broken hearted, we moved house. I couldn’t bear not seeing your little face at the window. I miss you, Yoki-san, you took a piece of me with you ❤️
