Or How AI and Algorithms are Changing Our Lives What do we stand to lose from spending our lives looking into a mobile screen which holds all the information we could ever desire to know, and then some we never wanted to. Much of this information is added by people who have gathered their information … Continue reading The Death of Critical Thinking

I respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the traditional owners of the land on which I write and live, and the rich history of storytelling being an important part of the culture. I pay my respects to the elders, past and present, and acknowledge sovereignty of this land was never ceded.

Listening to Charlotte Wood speaking to Jaclyn Crupi about her body of work last night was such a treat. There were so many take aways for an aspiring writer, but also a lot to learn from for an aspiring interviewer. The Mother of All Calamities by Lisa Moule is a fast paced, whirlwind story about contemporary parenting. It's funny and smart and hard to put down. This 400 year old ginkgo tree is one of the reasons I'm visiting Kyoto again in six weeks...it is a character, an inspiration, a catalyst, and a bridge between ages in my work in progress, I can't wait to sit in the sunshine and feel its magical energy again. When I go to Japan I always visit Kinokuniya. They have excellent stores in Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Kyoto, as well as many other cities. My favourite thing about visiting Sydney is going to Kinokuniya. I had such a wonderful morning chatting with @christinenewellwriter about her beautiful memoir, Five Seasons in Seoul at the Belgrave Library on Saturday. It was such a treat to ask Christine questions about her travels, and to acknowledge the similarities of our passions for another culture and Eastern philosophies. Happy Birthday to this guy who would have turned 58 today. Next weekend I will be in conversation with my gorgeous friend, the ever lovely @christinenewellwriter ❤️ We’ve moved, so my Blythe dolls moved with us. They needed an extension, so I’ve completed the first room renovation. Talking with Marion Taffe about her book By Her Hand yesterday morning was such a joy.
